Lizzie asks…

las vegas hotels please answer ?

hi me and a friend are planning to vist the lovely vegas !! and was wondering how much hotels cost per night. we were wanting to be on the stip in a 4 – 5 star hotel.. so any ideas how much per night for both of us.. thanks

Administrator answers:

Most hotel rooms in Vegas do not go over $150 a night, and the ones that are near that or that go over are the 4 and 5 star hotels that are over the top. Here is a guideline

Bellagio- 5 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - from $149
Caesar’s Palace- 4 1/2 star- – - – -from $120
Four Seasons- 5 star- – - – - – - – - from $275
Hard Rock Hotel- 4 star- – - – - – - from $59
Luxor- 4 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -from $55
Mandalay Bay- 5 star- – - – - – - – - from $109 & 3rd night free
MGM Grand- 4 1/2 star- – - – - – - -from $69
Mirage- 4 1/2 star- – - – - – - – - – - – from $72
Palazzo- 5 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - -from $199
Paris- 4 1/2 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - from $79
Planet Hollywood- 4 star- – - – - – - from $89
Signature at MGM Grand- 4 1/2 star- from $149
THEhotel at Mandalay Bay- 5 star- – -from $149
Treasure Island- 4 star- – - – - – - – - – from $69
Venetian- 5 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - – -from $199
Wynn- 5 star- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – from $159

These rates are using discount codes from the hotel that can be found here

Also, room rates are based on double occupancy, so as long as there are only two of you, the rate will stay the same. It’s when you add a third person that the rate goes up. For example, you could both stay at MGM Grand for $69/night total. Unless you are planning on each getting your own room, then you would each have to pay $69/night for your room.

There are also many upgrade options at all of the hotels. They are usually tier up in $20- $100 increments. For example, I have MGM Grand above from $69/night. But you can upgrade from the standard room to one of their many other room options here-

I hope this helps!

P.S. All of these rates are based on weeknight stays (Sun- Thu). On the weekend, hotel rates are double or sometimes triple their weeknight rates.

Sharon asks…

Which Las Vegas hotel should I celebrate my 21st birthday at?

Six of my friends and I are flying out to Las Vegas in June for my birthday…. We’re not looking to spend a whole lot, but we want a really fun and chill hotel. What do ya recommend?

Administrator answers:

Although I have not stayed there yet I have a reservation for a Go room at the Flamingo. Here is why I decided on the hotel:
Center strip
GREAT pools
Part of Harrah’s so they have a shuttle to all their poperties for free (Rio, Imperial Palace, Paris, Harrah’s, etc.)
Margarittaville on site
Natural habbitat with wild life
New Go rooms that have gotten good reviews (pillow top beds, huge flat screen, tv in mirror in bath, cd/ipod station, wireless internet)
VERY reasonable prices, they guarantee best price if you book through them.
Views of Bellagio, Ceasers, strip

There are tons of great hotels, but feel that I will get the most for my money at this place, not as nice as some others, but for the rate I do not think you can beat it.

Have a very happy birthday!

Sandra asks…

Nice but inexpensive Las Vegas hotels?

We want to take a quick trip Mon-Wed to Vegas but don’t have a lot to spend. What are some nice but inexpensive places to stay. Last time we went (years ago) we stayed at the Maxim behind the Pink flamingo. It was a great location and price. It was a clean hotel as well. However, I understand it was torn down several years ago.

Anyone know why the Stratosphere is so cheap? I thought this was suppose to be a nice and fairly new hotel.

Administrator answers:

The Stratosphere is inexpensive because it’s at the far North end of the strip. A lot of people just don’t like the location. IMO it’s a nice hotel and a great value.

Just off the strip

both have free shuttles, to & from the strip.

If you don’t mind staying downtown the Tower rooms at the El Cortez are very nice and a great bargain “generally”

4 star hotel that runs a lot of specials

All the latest promo codes for LV hotels

Later: The Stratosphere opened in 1996, a new tower has been added since. The old “Vegas World” hotel/casino that stood on that spot was completely torn down.

Carol asks…

What are some nice inexpensive hotels in Las Vegas?

I want to find one that is really nice, the room itselfs, but cheap.
Do you know if there are any that will allow dogs.

Administrator answers:

Sure. Just remember the rule of thumb – the hotel rates over the weekends are 2.5 to 3 times more expensive then weekdays. Secondly, hotels along the strips are slightly more expensive than those located in downtown Vegas. The good thing of staying along the strip is you don’t have to rent a car and you can totally immense yourself in the Vegas vibes.

Check out the websites of travelocity, expedia , travelzoon and southwest. They kind of have a weekly promotion on Vegas.

Chris asks…

which hotels in las vegas have the best free funbooks if you aren’t a guest there?

are there any hotels where you can just walk in and ask for a fun/coupon book? can you do this at the las vegas visitor’s center?

Administrator answers:

The best free coupons right now are from the FSE(Fremont Street Experience) – Just go to their offices at 425 Fremont – they are on the second floor of the parking garage next to Walgreens. Show an out of state ID.
$10 Free play at both the Golden Nugget & Binions
2-4-1 Buffets from Main Street Staion, Fremont & Fitzgeralds

There are some free play & other coupons in the free LV magazines, which are in your room or the hotel gift shop.
$10 free play – Binions
$10 free play – Sam’s Town

Silverton is offering $20 free play for new slot club members

Stratosphere – Will give you their funbook with your out of state ID >It’s the only one I know of

If you’re really into 2-4-1 coupons and other LV freebies >check out their POV

or the
American Casino Guide

To get a hotel’s funbook you will either need to be staying there or have a coupon(generally). It’s not worth the time to check with 50 casinos to maybe get 2 free funbooks.

We go to LV 2-3 times a year for 2 weeks or more at a time and have for over 20 years. We just returned from a month long stay in LV(6/4 – 7/5) We purchase 2 each of the LVA’s POV and the ACG – they are both worth far more than the cost.

James asks…

What hotels in Las Vegas have you stayed in?

Did you like or dislike it? What did you like or dislike about it?

Administrator answers:

New York, New York – It was really great. There’s a piano bar with dueling pianos that was pretty neat. There are 3 or 4 restaurants to eat at. I loved the Mexican place (can’t think of the name). Plus it has a roller coaster!
