Your Questions About Las Vegas Shows

Ruth asks…

Does anyone know how to get discount tickets to shows in Las Vegas. Also, which shows are the best?

Administrator answers:

If you are in Vegas, the easiest way to get discounted tickets is check the Half Price Tickets stores listed above. You get there at 10am, which is when they release their list for the day, and hope that they have a good price on something you want to see. While we were there, they had Penn and Teller, KA, and Zumanity on the screen for about half price.

The best shows to see are any Cirque De Soleil show. Mystere is the most affordable at $65-$95 per ticket, and is the original Cirque show in Vegas. Blue Man Group and Penn and Teller are supposed to be awesome. Also, this is Mama Mia’s last year at Mandalay Bay and that’s supposed to be good.

I didn’t get to see any of these shows when we went because I finally found a discount ticket site on the internet before we left for Mystere, but the nights we were going to be there were sold out. It is a great site, but people are actually trying to sell access to the site on ebay for $5. People will try and make money off of anything! Anyway, the site is https://www.goldstar.com/
and it has Mamma Mia tickets for $50-$66
Penn and Teller tickets for $52.80
Phantom of the Opera tickets for $82.20
Monty Python’s Spamalot- $45-$98
and more.

Unfortunately, they don’t list Mystere on there right now- but it may come up later if you keep checking it. Good Luck!

Donna asks…

Las Vegas Shows: Choose 1 from each group. (1) LA REVE or KA? (2) GEORGE WALLACE or WAYNE BRADY?

Administrator answers:

George Wallace is hillarious and I prefer KA.

William asks…

Steven asks…

Which one will be worth going to between WWE Double Raw in Las Vegas or MITB (I have tickets to both shows)?

Which one will be worth going to between WWE Double Raw in Las Vegas on 06/27/11 or Money in the Bank Pay Per View (I have tickets to both shows)? When WWE Double Raw goes off of the air than there is a taping for 07/04/11 Raw.

Administrator answers:

Hey I’m going to WWE Double Raw in Vegas! Woo hoo!

But to answer your question, I’m guessing the PPV will be better!

Michael asks…

How old do you have to be to go to shows in Las Vegas?

Administrator answers:

It depends on the show. Most shows allow guests 5 yrs and older when accompanied by a paying adult, unless otherwise stated.

If you plan to go alone, you must be 18 yrs or older.

Ken asks…

Which are the best shows currently on in Las Vegas?

This is our first visit to Vegas and we only have a few days before heading back to the UK, which show(s) should we try and get tickets for? We have been told of Le Reve, O, Blue Man and Zumanity.

Administrator answers:

My wife and I go to Vegas two to three times a year – we love the shows.

Without question, “O” is the most fantastic show you will ever see. I’ve seen every Cirque show except for La Nouba in Disney Orlando, and nothing comes close.

The show itself is “indescribable” and the cast performs the most unbelievable feats on land, in the air and in the water. The French word for water is “eau”, pronounced “O”, hence the name of the show. Go “O”, you will not regret that decision.

People loved Celine Dion – just not my cup of tea. The new Beatles/Cirque show, “Love” is at the Mirage. I plan on seeing that on my next visit – it’s gotten good reviews. As for a suggestion for another show, Spamalot has gotten rave reviews, Mama Mia is great, and Danny Gans is superb. Any one of those would make your night. Blue Man at the Venetian is very unique, and the Sintas at the Rio is a very good family oriented show. If you like magic – Lance Burton is the best. I saw Dirk Arthur at the Tropicana on my last visit – really a class “B” act!

For fun we went to see the Neil Diamond tribute show at the Riviera – Jay White, the fellow that does Neil, is nothing less than perfect! His appearance, voice, clothes and moves ARE Neil Diamond. I thought that I was at a Neil Diamond concert. The room is rather small, maybe 200 people in the audience. We had a ball. You can get half-price tickets for this and many other shows at ticket outlets up-and-down the strip. The outlets are called “Tickets 4 Tonight” and they go on sale about 11:00 AM (first-come-first-served) for that night’s performances only.

Another good source for reliable discounts are the books (such as “What’s on in Las Vegas” or “Las Vegas 24/7”) that are distributed in most hotels. The also give good info on where to eat and what to see. They’re really good little pocket guides!

For advance info on the shows during your stay, a great resourse is visitlasvegas.com.

The best free show is the Fountains at Bellagio – they perform every 15 minutes after dark – just spectacular. The Siren’s of TI show at Treasure Island is also good Other free attractions of note are the Lion Habitat at MGM, the Volcano and the White Tigers at Mirage, and the fountains inside the Forum Shops at Caesar’s Palace. If your going downtown, the Fremont Street Experience is truly on-of-a kind, and don’t pass up the ’world famous’ $.99 shrimp cocktail at the Golden Gate Hotel! Head over to the Rio (with free transportation from Harrah’s) to see the Carnival in the Sky.

I strongly suggest that you take a ½ day away from the strip and go to Hoover Dam. That is quite a sight! There are many tour companies to chose from that will pick you up right at your hotel.

Hope this helped.
